Woodsmen is an outdoor men's ministry in East Tennessee, leading men to Jesus through a love of the outdoors.
For fourteen years, Josh Webb poured into students as a pastor. Then a fall hunting trip with his dad in 2022 changed everything. Sitting in the deer stand, it hit him: the men he most wanted to reach may never walk into a church, but they were already spending their time in the woods and on the water. So he prayed a simple question, "Why couldn't spending time outdoors be a ministry?" The answer came back just as simple: "Why couldn't it be?"
When the man of the house comes to Jesus first, the rest of the family follows almost every time.
Woodsmen runs on a simple model: we win men to Jesus, build them up through discipleship, and send them out to lead. Here's what that looks like week to week.
Outdoor-based groups for men 18+ across East Tennessee, built around fishing and the outdoors, meeting weekly for real community and Bible study.
When a man is ready to go deeper, we meet him one-on-one, in Scripture and in real life, and help him get planted in a local church.
A few times a year every group comes together for something bigger, fish frys, night fishing, and even visiting the Bassmaster Classic.
No fishing experience or equipment required.
